Support/Comments for tagLinks

Hi,

I would like to use this wonderful snippet but I dont know how. Can you guys give some walkthrough
on how to implement this snippet. I want to use the snippet to display a menu of the categories.
I manage to install the snippet but don’t know how to make it run or implemented.

Do I need to configure modx to have friendly url or could I just make use the default modx configuration?

I’m wondering if anyone has this working in Revolution. It was working nicely in Evolution with the following call:

[[tagLinks? &tv=`Subject` &separator=` | ` &label=` — ` &format=`a` &element=`span` &fap=`1` &path=`categories/`]]

this gave a list of values separated by spaces either side of a pipe and pointed to resources I had setup under the categories tree.

In revolution the results are mixed - it outputs values from the ’Subject’ TV, uses the label and format parameters and seems to point to the right path. However, the separator parameter is ignored and all the values end up as one unbroken string of text.

I’m using Revo 2.0.5.pl with getResources in place of ditto. I did look at and experiment with the tagLister snippet, but found it overly complicated for what I’m trying to do.

Any suggestions would be helpful and much appreciated.

[UPDATE] worked out that the TV had nothing as the delimiter, made it a comma, and the values are separated as wanted. Now I’m trying to update the ditto call to getResources - should be relatively simple

For anyone having difficulty with this snippet not allowing viewing of unpublished documents when TagLink is in the template, I managed to use a PHX if published = 1 statement to get around the issue, you do need to call the snippet uncached though.
