    Hello all, hopefully someone can help.

    I’ve been recoding my formerly static site into a modx cms/blog. Everything has been going fine on my dev url (bigtypo.com/notbadart), but when I decided to go live and point notbadart.com to bigtypo.com/notbadart, now all my links are trying to access files at notbadart.com/notbadart. It’s clear to me that I’ve done something stupid, but I don’t know how to fix it. Any help?

    Thanks much.

      Update:

      In the head of the site, I commented out the ++site_url reference and replaced it with my domain, like so:

      <!--<base href="[[!++site_url]]" />-->
      <base href="http://www.notbadart.com/" />

      This fixed a lot of the problems, but not all, and since the things it fixed were just symptoms of a larger problem, I have reverted it back to the modx language
      <base href="[[!++site_url]]" />
      .

      Clearly I have the site url set incorrectly, but I don’t have a clue how to change it. Can anyone help?

        Update:

        I attempted an upgrade install, to hopefully reset the url settings. No luck. Everything is still the same.

          Hi driensche

          If you GOogle ’Move ModX’ you might find a few similar posts on the forum.
          I usually have to update the Config Files as mentioned here and sometimes
          the databse needs updating too (see section in that URL titled Update your Database.

          Hope it works.

            I was in the middle of a longish reply to this and went to do a preview and poof it all disappeared (dropped connection at my end I believe)

            Anyway - I just went through this, successfully, only hiccup being getting TinyMCE working - the thread is here: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,64687.0.html
            It was suggested that I could have done a re-install to fix, it sounds like that did not work for you.

            Here is what I did
            Do you have an active .htaccess file - if so it needs to edited (I turned off FURLs and deactivated my .htaccess - then pointed my new domain name to the site - then edited and reactivated .htaccess and FURLs)

            There are several settings in the /core/config/config.inc.php file look for the ones which in your case will start with /notbadart and not the long ones
            for example $modx_assets_url= ’/notbadart/assets/’; needs to changed to $modx_assets_url= ’/assets/’;

            Clear the cache - it can be done manually by deleting the cache directory and its contents located in the core directory - it will recreate it when a page is accessed.

            I believe that is all I did - you already have the base href in your template

            Good Luck
