Not sure if this is the right place for support or not. I’m trying to get Metax 1.5.2 working and a few things are not happening. I have 2 Tvs called keywords and mdescription. The keywords work fine because that is the default for the snippet but the description doesn’t.

The output is <meta name="abstract" content="Array" /> and my call is [[!MetaX? &abstract=`mdescription`]]

I also would like to have a checkbox TV to not allow search engines to index or follow a page. How would I set that up?

The search functionality is tied to the MODX Search field (page setting), there isn’t a way to use a TV at current for changing that setting. I’m sure Sal will pop in later and address the other issues for you.

At the moment MetaX only accepts standard document fields for Abstract and Description such as "longtitle, description, introtext" etc. I am in the middle of a code-rewrite for MetaX which in a way will bring it better into the future than the current one, I hope to release it in the next couple weeks. Also Patrick is correct, the "searchable" checkbox that is on every MODX resource by default controls what you would like to do. MetaX reads the value of that checkbox and acts accordingly.

Thanks guys, that worked. You should change the documentation on the paramaters as it says the abstract can have a field or TV - "Name of the Field/TV containing your abstract.".
