This is a slightly modified version of Access Files from Weblinks. This allows you to use with any template as long as resource type is Weblink.
The main use would be for files, but this offers the flexibility if needed sp that you can also use the resource browser to find images, flash movies or media if you wanted to.

I thought this would be useful to others because I have had clients that are research analysts that release many pdfs of their research. Allowing the use of the weblink field would allow you to simplify the manager screen for that type of client and would also simplify whatever chunks you need to set up your ditto calls to output the research. An example would be

Installation is very simple:
Save as a new plugin and check ’OnDocFormRender’ in the System Events.
Usage is simple too:
- create new resource
- Name it and save it as a weblink.(I check save and continue so I can keep editing resource)
- Click on the button on the right of the weblink field
- browse to the file that you’d like to use.
- Click Save.
- You’re Done
