    HI all,

I want to ask you about some problems with 2 browsers. Currently I want to use Opera, and later I discovered there are some problems even with IE.
Opera: after installing TinyMCE notorious bug happens when you try to save any document and Saving dialog doesn’t disappear. So I uninstalled it, and the problem did go away on one PC. But on other computer (OS Windows 7 Starter) the Saving window rolls again and again even if TinyMCE is uninstalled. I don’t know if it was working even before installing it. Is there a way to fix this?
IE 9: what happens is that every time I want to change the page in manager it asks "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?". It is basically unusable to edit content this way. How to disable this dialog, i presume it is some Windows system setting?
Another problem is that my page is rendered incorrectly only in IE. It seems to not fetch content relative to base tag. I have my base at the beginning of head. I’ve seen some posts that IE 8 had the same problem but it was patched. Is this issue specific to IE or MODX?

This is a bug in TinyMCE: https://github.com/splittingred/TinyMCE/issues/27
Please push there, if you want it fixed.

Thanks. Is there a way in MODX to remove all traces of TinyMCE(like remove it from downloaded packages) since I don’t really need its functions? Would that solve the problem? I already put which_editor=None and it still happens.

          To remove a package:
          System - package management
Uninstall it (click uninstall button and select the uninstall radio button)
select the package line and then control click (on a Mac) or right click (on windows) (linux??) and select remove package.

I think that should do it...

Completely removed the package and it still saves infinitelly embarrassed in Opera. Hopefully this can be fixed...

Sorry removing TinyMCE did not help.
I’ve seen something similar to the forever saving behaviour in the past - I found that the save was actually being performed, I could go to the page being edited, reload and see the changes. So I would just reload the manager and continue with life.

I have not seen this problem recently - I’m now using Revo 2.04 and 2.1rc4 - which version are you using?

While talking about saving one really nice thing about 2.1rc4 is that the standard Mac save keyboard short cut works - much quicker and a nicer work flow - also the manager in general seems faster.
Now if I could just get TinyMCE to work with the latest live install of 2.1rc4 ( I have it working fine on my laptop localhost ) - not that I want it - I prefer to edit in html and the editor is continually breaking things for me - but I do want it for a client.

Yes, the page is indeed saved, and reloading a page is a solution, but it’s easier to just get the browser in which it actually works.
I’m currently using 2.1rc4 too, sorry I forgot to mention that. But I know it used to happen in 2.0something_stable (I don’t have that installation now).
My problem is specifically with Opera, so I guess I’ll stick with Firefox on that one laptop. What bothers me is that on one client (not localhost) it works after simply uninstalling TinyMCE, and on the other it never goes away. That leads me to thinking that it might not be TinyMCE related. I’ve never tested it on that client prior to installing TinyMCE though.
And that IE issue I mentioned in first post - it’s IE (8 and 9) bug(?) that ignores base tag if it doesn’t point to full path, so it’s not MODx related.

Thanks, hopefully this gets fixed someday.

On the site that still has the issues, can you browse the source code and see if there are any mentions to TinyMCE in the <head> of the page?

                  TinyMCE can be sticky..
