    Hello there.
I’m new with MODX and planning to start a website that will have a database-like structure (in fact, that would be a movie database site like IMDb or smth else). Sorry for my English, guys smiley Ok, well, I’m interested if I can do with MODX such a thing: when I add a new content there would be fields for it’s (movie’s) trailer code, fields for poster images and so so on.

So I need MODX to give me just 1 page for inserting content, and it will generate many many pages (movie itself, posters gallery pages and trailer page) after everything would be done. SO! Could it be done with the features MODX provide with?

And of course, I need a tagging feature so my posters, trailers, quotes and something else would be easily browsed by the end-user on my website.

    Please.

    Thanks in advance!

MODX has a powerfull manager system: you can create any kind of variable you want and link it to your document.

So, if you create a new resource (a movie in your case), you can choose which variables could appear in this page of the control panel:
      - a variable for the poster
      - a variable for embedding video
      - a variable for tagging
      - and so on...

There are also some extras useful for what you need, for example some extras to manage image gallery etc. etc.

Or if you prefer MODx can easily access a custom database structure, which is often more appropriate if the data being stored does not really represent a unique web page view. You can even create a custom Manager module (or CMP as they’re called in Revo) to manage the custom database if you like, or you can have the management on the front-end, perhaps as an AJAX application. MODx does not put any limits on how you store, access or display your data.

Thanks people for the quick answer! Very appreciate it!

Ok, so maybe the last question, can I connect those variables I create with a content type? For example, if I input a data in a variable called "movie poster image" (upload an image), how in brief I can manage *a page* with that poster?
