This is an auto-generated topic for Quip 1.1.1-pl by splittingred.

    Brief Description:

A simple commenting system for MODx Revolution, complete with a backend management interface, threading support, moderation, notifications, and more.
Note: Users who have overridden the default chunks in their installs may need to update those chunks to match the default behavior. The form tag in the &tplComment tpl was removed as of 1.0.1. You will also need to add a call to the QuipReply snippet to show the reply form.
Note that upgrading to 1.0 changes the markup a bit; comments are now in ol/li tags rather than just divs. If you want to revert back to the old style, set &useMargins=`1` in your Quip call.
    New in 1.1.1

    • Fixed bug with quipComment::makeUrl method and its callers

    New in 1.1.0

    • Allow QuipCount to take 'user, thread' to simultaneously find all comments by a user in a thread
    • Added "family" option to QuipCount
    • Added theme ability to recaptcha with recaptchaTheme property on QuipReply
    • Added "family" option to QuipLatestComments for finding grouped threads
    • Added QuipResourceCleaner plugin, which removes threads when their Resource has been removed
    • Fixed bug with font-style in web css

Note: After installing, you may need to "Flush All Sessions" (Security - Flush All Sessions) to reload the new Access Policy for the manager interface.

      Hello,

do you know how I can disable preview mode? I just want the user to be able to post a comment without previewing it.

If I want to edit the source files, what’s the best place to start? Should I clone the package, or just edit the installed snippet files manually?

        That’s on the Roadmap: http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/Quip.Roadmap

To do it’s pretty complex - the way it’s build currently depends on the current workflow of preview -> post. A few things will have to be refactored to get the dynamic workflow ability of no-preview postings. You can definitely try to hack it - just know that might break your upgrade path.

Thanks for your quick reply. For now, I may end up adapting existing code I have into a mini snippet, since my needs are basic and specific.

Have just installed this on revo 2.3, cleared all sessions, cookies etc after install however when I click components >> quip all that loads is the left hand tree, the rest of the screen is blank. This is on Site 5 hosting which I’m told totally supports Modx Revo.

All other aspects of it work, just the manager area loads nothing.

you can see it on the front end at http://174.120.227.194/~campmain/index.php?id=118 ( don’t worry about the styling ).

Im willing to pay to get this working as it will be a really big part of the site.

            Any help appreciated.

            Traditional install
            Operating system Linux
            cPanel Version 11.26.9
            MySQL version 5.0.91-community-log
            Apache version 2.2.16
            PHP version 5.2.14
            cPanel Pro 1.0 (RC1)

Theres no errors in the error log, Reports >> Error Log and the only javascript error is:

Warning: reference to undefined property C[e]
            Source File: http://174.120.227.194/~campmain/manager/assets/ext3/adapter/ext/ext-base.js
            Line: 7

            Thanks for any help

            Thanks
