thanks for sharing the Snippet.

I used 1.8.4 before and I noted that the search results of 1.9.1 differs from that 1.8.4 returns.

I tried to search for "Matthaus" instead of "Matthäus" (as it’s in the content table saved).
AS1.8.4 don’t make the difference between the Umlaut "ä" and the "a". In 1.9.1 there are no results return when typing "Matthaus".

So I thought in remember of other forum posts a problem with charset, connection and utf8 related "stuff" is the reason, but I guess it has nothing to do with that this time.
(By the way the charset of the tables in the DB are set to utf8_general_ci; TinyMCE Encoding is set to raw,config.inc is configuered properly,...)

Well, in the same MODx-installation AS1.8.4 and AS1.9.1 behave different, described above.
So question is, what "changed" since 1.8.4 and how can I configure it as desired (find "ä" with searchterms "a", "á",...)

MySQL return a result as "Matthäus" has been found. But AjaxSearch can’t find the text for the extract. This is the reason why you don’t have any extract.

AjaxSearch 1.9.1 fix this issue, when an extract is required and when the text (Matthäus) is not found, then AS doesn’t display a result. Even if Mysql has found a result.

And how can I configure AS 1.9.1 to show the result? In fact, AjaxSearch shall to "ignore" the secial chars. I want the result "Matthäus". No matter if Matthaus or Mattháus is typed in the form.

Using non-ajax. Is it possible to exclude image filenames from the results page?

If for example I search for ’chicken’ I see chicken.jpg in the results

I cant seem to get the search to only do the wanted documents. I have 2 main containers that are used to create ad’s and i dont want them to show up in the search. filtering by ID is not reasonable as there are over 1000 id’ within these.
here is my code, using non ajax search


Even with the hide menu =0 items not in the menu are showing up. I’m not sure whats going on here.

Or is there another option for searching on my site?

As you use a landing page, could you post the ajaxSearch snippet call of the page #8.

To filter the results you need to add hideMenu inside the AS snippet call of the landing page.

my landing page had changed it to now it seems to filter, right.

I took out the hide menu, as the products dont get shown in the menu, just the catagories. My main concern was not having the CL ad pages to show up.
