Support/Comments for TinyMCE 4.0.4-rc2

    I have problems installing TinyMCE 4.0.4-rc2 on my webserver via Package Manager in Revolution 2.0.1. Tested it in several environtments. I know it has something to do with the ZIP-Extension which is newer in a later PHP version anyway.

    The problem is, most popular Plesk packages don’t use the newest PHP version (I have 5.2.4) and it’s not that easy to update PHP when using Plesk. Many Managed Hoster don’t use a newer PHP Version either. So it’s actually not a good Idea to force users using the newest php extensions out there since most webservers don’t support them without updating the software, while many people are not able to update ’cause they don’t know how to do it or because of the dependency to their webhoster.

    It’s not a problem to install other packages within Modx. Life was much easier in Evolution, but I don’t want to complain since I’m pretty thankfull for your work.

      Robin,

      We added a setting for people with a broken ZipArchive extension.

      Find the ’archive_with’ setting and set it to ’Yes’, or 1. This will fix your issue.

            Hello!

            I am currently using modx revo 2.0.2 with TinyMCE 4.0.4 rc1.
            And I noticed strange behavior. Let’s say we have 2 paragraphs of text typed in WYSIWYG mode.
            Something like this:
            <p>This is paragraph one.</p>
            <p>This is paragraph two.</p>

            At this point all works fine.
            After switching to html editing mode and pressing Update button (without changing anything) unwanted newlines appear after each paragraph. Though they do not affect the content and are not displayed at the front-end, they are confusing.

            It looks like it is not a modx plugin problem but strange configuration of tinyMCE (demo on official site works fine).
            Don’t know where to find a solution for this.

            Can anyone help? Do you have the same behavior of tinymce in your back-end?

              after saving the resources, refresh the browser.

                As I said before it doesn’t affect the content, so after saving all is displayed ok. But it is totally confusing for a user editing document content.

                  Looks like I’ve fixed the problem.

                  1. Updated to tinymce rc2 addon version
                  2. Turned ’preformatted’ flag off (tinymce plugin default parameters).
                  3. Clear site cache.

                  Thanx everyone.


                  PS. Toggling that flag on rc1 version didn’t affected this behavior.
