This should be the simplest way to create Related Content listing of resources from the same parent container.
Prerequisites:
getResources
UltimateParent
modx revo
Create the chunk named "simpleResourcesList" which holds the needed tpl code:
<li>
<a href="[[~[[+id]]]]" title="[[+pagetitle]]">[[+pagetitle]]</a>
</li>
Then somewhere in the template insert the following (or you can create another chunk and call it instead):
<div class="relposts">
<p>Related Posts:</p>
<ul>
[[!getResources? &parents=`[[UltimateParent]]` &resources=`-[[*id]]` &tpl=`simpleResourcesList` &limit=`5` &sortby=`RAND()`]]
</ul>
</div>
This is really pritty self-explanatory, the above code returns list of 5 randomly sorted resources from the same parent container excluding the viewed one..
By making more complex tpl one can style the output to include e.g. image thumbnail of allocated TV, additional info about the resource, etc
Guess even if this is as simple as it gets, it could prove helpful for some.
