Hi sottwell, I’m having the same issue as bodhiC - gallery works great locally but I am stuck having to install it on a server running PHP 5.1.6. The upload function just doesn’t respond. I don’t have access to the server to upgrade the PHP version, but would you be able to assist me in where to insert the json_encode alternative?

It looks straightforward but to be honest, I have no idea where to add the extra code!

The code could go in a snippet that gets called before the EvoGallery call, or it could be in a file and be included in the EvoGallery snippet code; the function just needs to be available to EvoGallery. I’ve never done it, I just found the information and thought it might be helpful.

Ok thanks for your help - I’ve now figured it out although it wasn’t working with the ’workaround’ link provided. This one did work:

I downloaded the script and related files, put them in the assets/snippets/evogallery/ folder, then added to the beginning of check.php. Basic stuff but I really don’t know much PHP...

All works great now!

Anyone reading this - this solution allows EvoGallery to work with PHP versions dating before 5.2

Great module!

When i want to delete an album, i have to delete the pictures 1 by 1. Is there a way to delete the total map?
Because when i delete the page it looks like the images are gone, but are they for real? Would be handy to delete all images with a single click without deleting the page.

Also i noticed on Firefox i get some errors when uploading, says 100% but keeps visable, sometimes flash crash, also on IE8 i see a HTTP error, anyone else had this too?

The module is very nice, only can’t sell them to my clients because on every upload with more than 10 pictures i get a http error. A picture isnt uploaded somehow, it’s not because of filename or characters...
Don’t think modx had to do anything about it, i think it’s flash which gives problems or the browsers. On Macintosh all is ok, on PC FF really sucks and IE i also get http errors but not as much as FF.

Thanks for sharing the gallery module.
I tested it and I noted that the Document list contains all Ressources even if the User doesn’t have the permission to edit it.
For some user a few ressources are hidden but the module ignores this confiuguration.

And is it possible to add a external language-file-feature? Now i have to edit the hardcoded parts of the english descriptions.
Any further updates planned?

i got it working with fancybox which is the best popup js if u ask me.
still got the errors, dunno if it’s the serversettings or browser errors but guess im the only one because nobody is complaining of this.

I successfully used the ManagerManager function [tt]mm_galleryLink()[/tt] to create the text typed TV [tt][*gallery*][/tt] containing a direct link to the EvoGallery section. Clicking this link in the manager works fine.
Now I want to place that link in the frontend into the content of the gallery page, assuming that I have just to insert the TV [tt][*gallery*][/tt] into the site template. But it doesn’t work that way.
If I set an explicit link in the form all is fine.
What am I doing wrong?
