Support/Comments for PhotoGallery 0.2-beta

Uses images uploaded to a specified folder in the assets/images/ directory to build a gallery with subfolders etc. Lots of config control. Works well with most lightbox clones. Supports multiple gallery sets per page.

So i’ve been going through all of the MODx image galleries trying to find something simpler than MaxiGallery and works. I tried Easy 2 Gallery, MiniGallery and PhotoGallery. But i couldn’t get the later 2 to work and Easy 2 was forcing its own gallery ids instead of using folder names, so that wouldn’t work for my purposes.

So before i abandon PhotoGallery let me pose this question.

Is there a way to force Photogallery to return images from a single sub-folder under the the main gallery folder.

I’m doing a real estate site and each page is a separate property. On each page i need to show only the pictures for that property. So i have the following folder structure: assets/images/properties/[*title*]

On a property template i put the following snippet call:
[!PhotoGallery? &folder=`[*title*]` &width=`130` &list_class=`gallery` &gallery_set=`gallery1` !]


So for example when i loaded a page 457815.html i would expect to see images from assets/images/properties/457815 folder. Instead what is see is the links to the property folders: 457815, 33845, etc. Then only after clicking on 457815 do i see the links to the actual images (see attached screenshot).
I also noticed and extra / in the image url, so made a change in the snippet code to remove it. Either way clicking on the image link did not open the link because it was using a relative path "assets/images/properties/457815/image_name.jpg", which of course is not a valid url. But it is unclear how to change this to make it generate valid links.

Also, not very clear about thumbnails. Do i need to manually generate them or have another tool generating them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried Evo Gallery? Very simple and you can tie any lightbox you want to it.
