am doing all my sites in modx evolution. have a client who wants some mini-sites designed and traffic will average 100k visits per month. nothing fancy as far as features, modx evo would handle it quite nicely. am wondering if there are any issues i need to be aware of at this traffic level as most of my other sites are much lower in traffic.

would modx revolution be a better solution? i tried the initial public release but decided to stay with evo until revo matured a bit.

my thought is to put the sites (there may be multiple mini-sites, each with its own domain) on a vps with dedicated resources.

    appreciate any feedback.

I have an Evo site with 500k visitors per month.
The only issues would likely be with poor shared hosting etc.

100K visitors a month is a trivial load for MODX on even modest hosts. We recently had a commercial support customer that saw their peak traffic in a single day on a Revo deployment hit 1.5M pageviews and over 200K visitors. In. A. Single. Day. (And it has a ton of dynamic content and custom development work.) Granted, that was across multiple front-end servers, but MODX didn’t bat an eye.

thank you for the feedback, ryan.

seems that modx is more than ready to expand with my business. and the help in the support forums over the years has been invaluable.
