Support/Comments for TE Mailer 1.5-beta

This is an auto-generated topic for <a href="http://modxcms.com/extras/package/449">TE Mailer 1.5-beta</a> by transeffect.

Brief Description:
Used to send bulk email (but not spam!) from within MODx. Created for newsletter mailing. It will mail out a MODx page as a newsletter.

I tested this new version (1.5beta) of TE Mailer, it doesn’t work... u say in your README.TXT to run install, but in this new version there is no more the install directory. The only way to upgrade from 1.0 to 1.5beta, is to overwrite all the files.

The admin gui is better, more graphic
I selected my document (id 13) in my newsletter folder (id 12), send doesn’t work

What a shame, it looks a good script, i’ll keep an eye on it anyway

I was trying to test this as well. There is no install directory in the package. I was unable to install it.

Ok a couple of things:

1 I’m not seeing any content in my email, that I sent.
2 Sending a test email didn’t work, I had to add myself to the list for it to work.
3 Can I create multiple news letters? Client wants 8 +
4 Where do I change the "From" information, mine says "The Newsletter mailer <[email protected]>"

I really like it so far, I used the updated file from the other post.

this complete newsletter script require an real smtp server. But this is so easy. I put it on my mail server, everything is perfect!!
Maybe we could integrate this script in MODx...
