Simple div slideshow..

Hello.  I’m trying to create a section on my front page that contains a slide show of preselected documents.

Here is an example of what I want to do:

We were hoping you all might be able to help us find a solution as we are having trouble finding anything like this on the modx plugins section..

How it should be structured? Should we create a separate modx "document" for each item in the slideshow?  It would seem that approach would prevent our moderators without admin privilages from updating or submitting posts to the slideshow - is that not correct?


Any comments & suggestions appreciated!!


PS - **THIS IS NOT AN INQUIRY ABOUT SIMPLE PICTURE GALLERY/SLIDE SHOWS**

Do you need a slideshow of pictures or a slideshow of say current news posts/events (like modx homepage)?

Preferably current news posts. We basically want to create a "headline" section that cycles between our newest posts from one of three sections of the site.
