Editors - Core, plugins - What are they best at?

I beleave there are quite a few editors around here now (MODx core and plugins)

Perhaps a little debate on theire strong and weak sides is appropriate. The question basicly will help as an introduction for newbies as myself.

So, why many editors

Do you mean rich text editors? If so, then the whole point of MODx is not about forcing users down a particular path. We typically offer 3-4 ways to get to the same end result.

As far as RTEs go, I personally prefer raw code. If I had to choose one though, it would be Tiny MCE cause it tends to not futz with existing code so much.
