I was dealing with this same issue yesterday and came across the DynamicDrive script. IMO, the script could very well be rewritten, ideally for use with MooTools, etc...although it Moo library shouldn’t be required just to resize the frame.
Unfortunately, I have NOT been able to get the script to work when the URL for my iFrame is from another server. Permission Denied errors...
I also tried loading some custom JavaScript into the iFrame page itself, but it can’t resize the parent container as it doesn’t own it.
