Evolution, phpthumb and space in image filename

I am wondering if anybody have a fix on the problem that occurs when you have an image filename with a space in it like: "summer vacation.jpg".

The fix can be that MODX changes spaces to underscores or that phpthumb are able to show the image even with a space. Now the only thing that shows is the blue error image, or no image at all.

spaces becomes - characters, capitals become lowercase.
