    Hello Guys,

I´m running Modx 2.1.1. on 3 Systems now and i´ve installed the latest developing page 1h ago.

I had this issue a few times now and it´s getting really annoying because it just eats useless time developing a page.

Issue is quiet simple i CAN NOT download any Packages or install them.

I always get an ERROR which tells me that the Package could not be downloaded.

Ensure cURL is installed and configured. Also ensure you’re not behind a proxy.

        Hey Splittingred,

i had this issue a few weeks ago as you can see in this post where you replied as well.

        http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,64588.msg365345.html#msg365345

The porblem is that it is not only a the new System which i installed 3 hours ago it just appears in my running and working System as well.
I cant even upgrade any packages it just gives me back the same error like last time.

        no proxys no URL Issues
Everything worked fine until today without any changes on the System settings.

heres a screenshot if this helps

We cannot zoom on your screenshot.
Can you check your modx console to see if there are no errors ?

              1. You need to set date.timezone in your php.ini.
              2. You need to turn open_basedir or safe_mode off.

                1. You need to set date.timezone in your php.ini. - Provider wont do this and is this responsible for Errors in Package Management?
                2. You need to turn open_basedir or safe_mode off. - it is turned off!
                3. i got something wrong earlier because my Host doesn’t run cURL - anyway how could i be able to install 6 packages earlier?

Here is a Screenshot from my System Settings where you can see the whole configuration if that helps

If you are running PHP 5.3+, you have to set the setting. It is a PHP issue, not a MODX issue.

                  2. You need to turn open_basedir or safe_mode off. - it is turned off!
Apparently it is not, according to your error logs.

                  3. i got something wrong earlier because my Host doesn’t run cURL - anyway how could i be able to install 6 packages earlier?
There is a backup method using Sockets; however, it is not always reliable from host to host; therefore we tell people that cURL is required to use Package Management. You should tell your host to turn cURL on for you. If they wont, they’re probably not a good host, and you probably should consider switching to one that uses more up-to-date methodologies and actually does what you pay them for.

when i download a package from modx/extras i dont get the transport.zip-file it only donwloads a folder which cant be installed manually ind the package manager
where do i get those files to install add ons with ftp manually?

You need to tell whatever browser you’re using to not auto-unzip zip files when you download them.
