    Hi All:

    Once again, here to ask a couple questions.

    Not urgent stuff but Ditto is giving me an error in validation and its not giving me the link at the bottom of the ’blogpost’. I confirmed the error has to be from the Ditto chunk, I guess. Same template without the ditto code and all is well with no errors.

    I used the code in the basic blog page of the wiki, http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Basic_Blog, even though my install already had an older one. But it didn’t work right so I updated to the newer one.

    The error is that an <h3> tag is not allowed in this place. The earlier ditto chunk used <div> around <h3> and the rest of the content, and at that time the error said, <div> is not allowed in this place.

    Here’s the validation output:

    Line 174, Column 4: document type does not allow element "h3" here; missing one of "object", "applet", "map", "iframe", "button", "ins", "del" start-tag
    <h3>
    The mentioned element is not allowed to appear in the context in which you've placed it; the other mentioned elements are the only ones that are both allowed there and can contain the element mentioned. This might mean that you need a containing element, or possibly that you've forgotten to close a previous element.

    One possible cause for this message is that you have attempted to put a block-level element (such as "<p>" or "<table>") inside an inline element (such as "<a>", "<span>", or "<font>").

    Neither problem is the end of the world, the link is also in the post title. But I would like to solve the error problem if possible.

    Thanks in advance for any assistance!! smiley

      Can you post the output code or the URL of the problem page?

          Your culprit is an open paragraph tag. Headers can’t go within paragraphs. The open tag is right after the first sentence, ’Please to enjoy the useful and excellent Rayxi Blog for your application support!’. Semantically, you may want to wrap your Ditto code in a Div tag also. You also have to pull the closing paragraph tag.

              Do’h! I checked everything three times except for that!! And when I was out I thought of the header of that page, wondering if that <h1> could be causing it somehow...

              Thanks so much!! I would have killed many more hours on that one!

                Happy to help - I know what it is like! I once spent 4 hours searching for a bug that made my hover image blink, only to realize I had accidentally made the gif animated, causing the blink to be there. And about looking for keys....I found mine in the freezer once. (At my bro’s house, made a cup of coffee, went to the freezer for ice, had coffee in one hand and keys in the other, so put the keys down to grab the ice and then shut the freezer - thankfully it only took a few minutes to realize where the keys were).

                  Ha ha goonz that is hilarious. Even I haven’t ever put them in the freezer! Yet... tongue

                  I found mine on top of my desk which just has a bunch of junk and I never put anything up there...frantic searching for 15 minutes when I was already late. Ah, but that is just par for the course, I have gotten used to it.
