getResources by Createdby and Popularity

Hi Guys,

I want to do 2 different types of getResources call.

1st, I want to call only resources created by certain users. Is this possible?

2nd, I have a TV that holds number of document views.
I want to use get resources to pull the most popular / most viewed document.

Any guidance apreciated
