Hi I want a slideshow banner on my site displaying different pics every few seconds or ads. Can I use Revolution’s "Gallery" somehow for this or does anyone know a good way - even better if the banners/pics are clickable too. I used to use a really good snippet on evolution called RandomImage but I can’t find this in the repository... Does anyone know any good way to do this that is simple?

    Thanks

      Hi,

I used Chris Coyier’s Anything Slider http://css-tricks.com/examples/AnythingSlider/. In my case I used some TV’s and getresource to generate an unsorted list with the components I wanted on each slide in an li. In my case an image, a title and a paragraph or 2 of text. A little CSS and let Chris’s slider do the rest.

There’s not reason you couldn’t do this with a combination of the gallery component and Anything Slider. In my case I wanted each slide to link to a specific page. It made sense to add the components of the slide to each page so everything was in one place.

All you need is an unsorted list of your slides and some javascript. Getresources and Gallery are just ways of making the UL.

I hope you get what I’m saying but if you need more detail let me know.

AnythingSlider is a javascript so I just set it up as I would on a static web page. Did you download the latest version? It’s got pretty good instructions on how to set it up and get it going. Just open the index.html file. Take a look at the css and style your UL accordingly. Are you unsure of how to setup a UL with gallery?
