Apache, php version 5.1.6. It is a go daddy VPS running plesk 10.1.1.

I had to kill my server and restored from a back up. The site loads fine. But there are problems in the manager.
1) Saved changes aren’t reflected on the site
2 ) When i go into the manager I can’t open the system settings, manager users, access controls and other areas.
When I did the back up it seems that folders didn’t have there permissions set. I went though and set "/core/packages","/core/cache", "/core/import", and "/core/export" , "core/config" to writable. and that didn’t seem to help.
I tried running Site --> Clear Cache. A pop up came up but nothing happened.
Are there other folders that need to be writable?
Any other things I should look into?
