First off, thanks for reading this anyways.
Basically, I’m using Quip for a blog as part of my site by following the documentation about creating a blog. I did that successfully, everything looks neat, but I’m still confused on a couple of things.
By the way, I have been looking through the mind-boggling documentation on Quip as much as I could understand and I have done some things, including changing font color (I found the chunks for Quip already).
- How to change the date manually (need to make it seem that a post was posted a while ago; transferring a blog including some important old posts from old website)? Also, do the pages change in order based on date?
- (This is more like a confirmation) My site is for use by multiple people and I’m not the one posting on the blogs, so I haven’t tried this out. How do you log in as a moderator? ie, do you simply log into MODx and then you can remove comments or such?
- I have tested out the comments and there is some odd picture. What is the point of that picture and can you personalize it?
- How would I add horizontal rulers/lines across the screen after each comment? And is there an easy way to make 50% width hr’s after every comment if there is a comment afterwards and a full width hr if there is no comment afterwards? (aka for inbetween comments and the comment reply form)
- In the page that shows all the excerpts, the page says: "Read more | Comments (1) | [date]". The problem is that the hyperlink for "Comments (1)" is more like "Comments (1) ", aka there is an extra space and I’m being stingy over the looks of the site so how would I make the hyperlink extend properly? By the way, in the page for the post itself, the hyperlink is all right
- Is there a possible easy way to make it so that some snippet or such can automatically make the excerpt instead of me manually doing it and how can I do such a thing?
These are the things that confuse me the most and/or I can’t figure out. The rest of what I want to mess with I can pretty much figure out.
Thanks again.
