Registration Moderation / Approval

In the Login add-on is it possible for the site administrator to approve registrations.

Almost like activation is required but the activation email goes to the site admin.

If you want an approval workflow, you could set up a "limited" or "awaiting approval" user group, and manually update the users in that group when they are approved.


To make it easier, you could have a plugin email you on registration (OnUserSave + modMail), and a CMP which lists all users with a certain user group and a button to change it to another one. I don’t think it’s particularly hard to implement, but will take some work.

There’s also a built in "active" field which could possibly be used for a workflow like this, but not quite sure yet how it is being dealt with currently.

I just submitted a plugin Transport Package for Revolution called ActivationEmail that emails users when they are manually activated or (optionally) deactivated. It should be available for installation through Package Manager in a day or so.

Did you create your property set on the Properties tab of the Plugin?

If not, I think that in addition to specifying it as you did, you have to go to Tools -> Property sets and "attach" it to the plugin (Right-click on the property set and select "Attach Element to Property Set.").

Yes I created the Property Set in the Properties tab of the Plugin.

I tried your suggestion but got "An error occurred while trying to add the element to the property set"

Tried uninstall / re-install but same outcome.

That sounds like a bug. Are you using MODx 2.0.8? I think there was a bug with plugins and property sets that is fixed in the current version.
