I’m trying to make an overview of some products. Certain products need to be in multiple categories.
I tried to do it like this :
Create a document in category A
Create a symlink in category B

The symlink is linked to the document in the field "symlink" by the id of the document.

When I try to make an overview of the products with getResources the content (and tv’s) of the document is not found.
A link to a "detail page" brings me to the page of the document, so that works..

How do I get the content of the document?

The ’content’ field of a Symlink just contains the id of the page it points to. I doubt if getResources knows what to do with that.

          Hey Bob

Thanks for responding, my above question is closely related to my other post and therefore I’ll ask any further questions there.

getResources can create the internal URI to the Symlink target the same way it can with any URI of any Resource. What is the problem? Did you use the same Template? Did you override values in the target by filling those values in SymLink?

Will getResources set placeholder with values from the fields and TVs of the target resource if they’re not overwritten in the Symlink itself? If so, that’s quite cool and I stand corrected (again). tongue

No, unfortunately getResources knows nothing of the target, but supporting that would make a great feature request for the component.
