    How do you configure the sendmail in MODx? i’ve had a look but i cannot see it. Also i don’t know where the settings for reCAPTCHa is, in modx? Please see attached.

    I configured MODx to work with the SMTP server provided by my hosting provider. Should be fairly straightforward.

    The recaptcha is configured through the Formit setting. Filter on "Formit" in the settings view, second dropdown from left. Enter your keys and you should be up and running.

      I have createda thanks page - ID 11, with the following code
      [[!FormItRetriever? &redirectToOnNotFound=`444`]]

      <p>Thanks [[+fi.name]] for submitting. An auto-response email will be sent to you at [[+fi.email]]. Here's a copy of your message:</p>
      <pre>[[+fi.message]]</pre>

      My contact page, has the following code:
      [[!FormIt? &hooks=`recaptcha,spam,email,redirect` &emailTpl=`MyEmailChunk` &emailTo=`[email protected]` &emailUseFieldForSubject=`1` &emailSubject=`bla bla bla` &redirectTo=`11` &validate=`name:required, email:email, message:stripTags:required` ]]
      <h2>Contact Form</h2>
      <div class="email-wrapper">
      <div class="email-form">
      <div style="padding: 0px 0px 0px -20px;">[[*contactIntroMessage]] </div>
      <form action="[[~[[*id]]]]" enctype="application/x-www-form-urlencoded" method="post"><input name="nospam:blank" type="hidden" />

      <div class="form-error-wrapper"><span class="error">[[+fi.error.email]]</span> </div>
      <div class="form-label">Subject </div>
      <div class="form-element-wrapper"><input id="subject" class="local-input" name="subject" size="50" type="text" value="[[+fi.email]]" /> </div>
      <div class="form-label">Message* <span class="error">[[+fi.error.message]]</span> </div>
      <div><textarea id="text" class="local-text" cols="50" rows="6" name="text">[[+fi.text]]</textarea> </div>
      <div class="form-label">Please enter these words* </div>
      <div class="form-element-wrapper">[[!+formit.recaptcha_html]] </div>
      <div class="form-error-wrapper"><span class="error">[[!+fi.error.recaptcha]]</span> </div>
      <div class="form-label">*indicates a required field </div>
      <div style="float: right; padding: 0px 44px 0px 0px;"><input class="local-input" type="submit" value="Send email" /> </div>
      </form></div>
      </div>

      I have changed some settings for the mail, but nothing, please see image attached. Is there anything in the system settings or system info that may be affecting the sending. I know it’s something obvious but I can’t figure it ouy. I’m pulling out my hair :’(

        Shouldn’t you have your SMTP host in the format of "mail.mydomain.com" or "smtp.mydomain.com"?

        Unless you have your server running local, that is AFAIK the general format.

        If you have your server running local, do you have a mail process of some description running? All this is way out of my comfort zone but I remember having issues when developing local... I hate configuring these unix processes....

        Also, I noticed you did not have a password set while the mail authentication is set to Yes.

          Thanks, it was ’mail.mydomain.com’ instead of ’localhost’ that was causing my problems. Got there in the end, it’s working fine now smiley
