Hi all, I’m new and trying to figure out how to install my first plug in.
The plug in itself has some explicit instructions (pasting those below).
Beyond that I’m not sure of the very basics, is there a section of the MODx documentation wiki I should look at?
Am I installing a plugin, or more or less using the methods of creating a new one.
Just need some nudges where to look for the best generalized directions on the applicable concepts.

The first two things in the instructions don’t quite make sense to me, I’m missing the big picture on plugins then?

    WebThumb instruction in the plugin.webThumb.tpl
    ----------------------
    INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
    # Modify the "CONFIG" section below
    # Copy and paste this file into a new plugin named "Webthumb"
and check the onDocFormSave event checkbox
    # Familiarize yourself with the Webthumb API here:
    http://webthumb.bluga.net/apidoc
and modify the webthumb.php file included in this package
to set the options as desired.
(The default values are to get a full-size .png screenshot
    after a 10 second delay.)
    # Upload all these files (except plugin.Webthumb.tpl) to your
    assets/plugins directory
    # chmod your plugins/webthumb directory to 777 (on your server)
    # Create a directory on your server called screenshots in
assets/images/ and chmod it to 777
    # Optionally rename ht.access to .htaccess and replace the IP
address to prevent unauthorized thumbnailing. This isn’t
required for the plugin to function, and will not work on
non-Apache webservers, but it’s recommended if you can do it.
    # TEST. If MODx isn’t installed at your site root you’ll have
to change some of the paths in this plugin and the config.
    ---------------------

[Edit:] I spotted the config section below the instructions in the same file: plugin.webThumb.tpl (d’oh embarrassing) embarrassed
Is that the live config for the plug in then right in this file?

Here’s the link to the plugin in the Extras section if anyone’s interested on more info:
