Cant see it in the settings but can I deny a user access to symlinks, weblinks, static resource and support tab. It wud just confuse the client

Do you mean hiding the menu choices for those? You can do that with custom permissions in Manager -> Actions (right-hand panel).

You can also uncheck the relevant permissions in the user group’s Context Access policy.
