    Now it’s

    tools.html?fd=GARBLEDSTUFF instead of Microsoft PowerPoint - Helena_Paloj.pdf

I want to add a pdf icon to all pdf links but because the garbled link doesn’t show the extension pdf or doc I can’t add the pdf or word icon in front of it. Any ideas how to do this, I don’t mind the urls being garbled but as long as I can display the right icon for the right filetype.

Ok I found it myself after experimenting a bit.

I don’t know if this is the correct way but it works.

      Create a chunk e.g.
      eFileLinkTpl
      containing this code:

      <a href="[[+path]]">[[+filename]]</a>

      then in your resource do

      [[!FileLister? &fileTpl=`eFileTpl` &fileLinkTpl=`eFileLinkTpl` &path=`assets/pdfs/`]]

I still don’t understand where [[+path]] is coming from but it works.

        Nice point here!
I'm facing a similar problem here: when FileLister is generating its URL for a large file (almost 80Mb), the files become unavailable for the user in Chrome.
That's why I want to get rid of this coding.

However, if I use the method shown above, I get broken links for directories:

        instead of getting
        flie-browser?fd=User&20Directory%20Name/software%20version

        I get
        /user directory name/software version

which leads me to the page listing the contents of the directory in the browser-native way.

How can I specify the type of link?
E.g. for files I get the regular link with no encoding, and for directories I would use the typical encoded paths.
