one snippet vs multiple snippets

I was wondering what the best practices are for snippets. And what is faster.

So I am createing a page that is like a big template with a bunch of little templates inside it.
Is it best/faster load time to have one big snippet doing the work or a bunch of smaller snippets? Does the same apply to chunks?


(Is there a best practices area for modx somewhere? I may have been reading it, but not realized it was the best practices section. )
