SOLR Search

Hi,

A colleague and I are building Search for MODx Revolution using SOLR.

We are planning to include the following to begin with.

1. Documents
2. Users

If someone has already done any preliminary work on this or has any suggestions on how to implement this. We request you to please share.

I have started the development of an advanced Search add-on named AdvSearch which allows search in dynamic content. This add-on is based on the lucene search api of Zend. And it will have the same features as AjaxSearch.

A while back I also looked into creating a custom search option but just have not had the time to actually do it.

A couple of features that would be great to have would be to index and allow searching of PDFs/Word Docs and search works with member’s pages/access permissions.

AdvSearch is based on the Zend API : http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/

No needs of java Server like SOLR. Only a php Library.

Features:
- indexation of a document when saved
- search in the index
- use TVs only for filtering and faceted search

+ plus the features of AjaxSearch but with a compliance with simpleSearch parameters (as possible)
