Manager and 404 error message issue

Hi

I recently installed MODx, however after installation, when I tried to login in IE8, the page kept refreshing and did not allow me into the manager. It’s still doing this. [Any suggestions?]

However I thought I would try firefox. This has allowed me access to the modx manager. I have created my pages, chunks and TV’s and can see the homepage fine. But when I click on any other page I get a 404 error message. Even index.html or using the id doesn’t work.

I’m not sure what is happening – please can someone help me.

can you see a preview (does the preview button work from the manager page?)
