I think Modx is extremely stable and works fine in many different enviroments.

Btw, two things I *never* do:
    1. Trust anything a hosting company says. Never.
    2. Start blaming the scripts I’m installing. As most people get the scripts to work without problems it would make me look like a fool shouting about bugs, I know it is almost always me doing something wrong.

One thing I would recommend NEVER doing is uploading decompressed MODx installation files but rather, upload the single zipped installation file and decompress it on the server. It takes just one corrupt uploaded file to screw up your whole installation, or at minimum make it seem as though Revo has many more bugs than it legitimately does.
      Thank you.
Your reasoning does makes good sense.
How do you unzip right up there on the server?
So far I’ve been using Winzip in Windows, and I’m more than happy with it.
How do you unzip in Unix? How do you load it up there? Is there any specific s/w you recommend?
        Best regards,
        Mike

Your domain’s control panel (CPanel?) will have a button in its file manager for doing that.

Uncle, thanks for your many great suggestions. I’ve sent you a long reply, but the wonderful scripts of this MODx forum have erased my message three times in a row -- 1st for being at the end of a rigidly enforced 120-minute cycle -- the 2nd time when einsteinsboi posted while I typed -- and the 3rd time when Susan posted while I was typing, so I’m sorry I’m really-really getting tired of this forum game. I don’t even have any more time to retype my detailed messages off the top of my head. Sorry, there will be no real reply to you. But course it’s not your fault! And neither that of einsteinsboi or Susan! Sorry!
            Best regards,
            Mike

Mike, no problem. Although my advices where very general perhaps they could be of any help. You don’t need to spend time answering me, use the time finding the problem instead. smiley

            Btw, one more advice:

Never hit the post button without copying what you have written into memory. That goes for everywhere, not just here on Modx forums. Also there are addons to firefox that automatically saves what ever you type in an input field, that way you can recover what you wrote.

No more advices from me today. tongue
