Hello all,

I would like to know wether there is any modification which allows you to set Custom website settings.

For example, i have a website where i would like to be able to change the background color. i would like to be able to do this either with a button at the front end (in style of maxigallery), or in the backend in the configuration tab, or a new backend page perhaps...

Does anyone know a mod which ables me to do this.

Any suggestion is appriciated.

Thank you in advance,
Dennis

EDIT: hmm, noticed this is the wrong board, tried to remove this, failed miserably.

- You can use a TV [*ChangeColor*] - See this: http://www.sottwell.com/tv-input-types.html

- Assign it to the same template you have your docs/resources
assigned to.

- Then go edit the doc/resource with QM front-end and now you will see a extra
dropdown/check boxes or radiobuttons with your colors.

- And In the template:

TV’s are like extra fields for your doc/resources...

//You would use something like this
Input options: Black==000||White==fff
Default option: fff

Thank you for replying,

What you are suggesting is in essence a good solution, but it is not very idiot-friendly. Idealy i would like a color picker to come with it, but i doubt that exists.

Basicly, i would like to have a button on the top of the website(when logged in), click it, and get a popup, or load a page with a couple of general website settings.

ManagerManager got a color picker widget for TVs (mm_widget_colors)

Ok, i’m not entirely able to get it to work,

is it supposed to replace a field in the create TV screen? or is the TV supposed to become a colorpicker? Anyway, i can’t get either to work, i’ve made a rule:

mm_widget_colors(’tvcolor’);

and a TV named ’tvcolor’ but it does not seem to change it.

you’re almost there smiley

you need to assign your TV "tvcolor" to the template in use, then you’ll see the colourpicker in the backend (while editing a ressource) it adds the value of the picked colour to the TV -> place the TV in your template where you want the value to appear

i just tested it with MODx Evo 1.0.2

*...just thinking*
right now you set the color for each ressource separately, if you want to use it for the whole website, you could create a ressource with the TV assigned to it, don’t tick-off "show in menu" and retrieve the value with the getField Snippet http://modxcms.com/extras/package/173 by placing it in your template
