Running the latest general release of MODx (1.0.0) and I would like to pull event data from a Google calendar and have it post to a list on one of the pages on the site I am building. I tried using the Google Events Snippet that is available in the MODx repository, but the SimplePie Compatibility test failed, and therefore, I can not use the snippet. (The error read as follows: "Fatal error: Call to undefined function curl_version() in C:\wamp\www\sp_compatibility_test.php on line 20").

Does anyone know of another manageable way to pull event data from a Google calendar and have it display on a site page?

    Thanks for any tips.

You might just need to enable curl in Wamp. I use XAMPP so I can’t promise anything but I found this on the web:

Curl can indeed be enabled under WAMP running on a Windows Environment.

The steps are as follows :

      1) Close WAMP (if running)
      2) Navigate to WAMP\bin\php\(your version of php)\
      3) edit php.ini
      4) Search for curl, uncomment extension=php_curl.dll
      5) Navigate to WAMP\bin\Apache\(your version of apache)\bin\
      6) edit php.ini
      7) Search for curl, uncomment extension=php_curl.dll
      8) Save both
      9) Restart WAMP

That will solve your Curl issues.

      Ciao

Thanks for the tip. At this point I will probably just wait until I have the site up in the live environment and then give the snippet a shot there.
