Can anyone tell me how to enable the resource browser for a front end user? I’ve built a blog for someone integrated into their site with this awesome tutorial in the wiki: http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Basic_Blog, but the NewsPublisher default snippet doesn’t have a Rich text editor in the entry form, and I need to upload photos to blog posts. I’ve seen some really old posts about this, but nothing definitive.

I would like to use TinyMCE - that’s my preference for the manager, and what I’m training the client on.

    Thanks,

        Thanks Sharkbait
looks like some (semi) heavy reading this early in the morning, but on the right track. I’ll post back with a solution when I find it.

I’m halfway there with this solution, the problem is that TinyMCE is not showing the full RTE options, (primarily images).

Let me run through my process and see if anyone can poke a hole in where I’m at.

My data entry page for the blog is run from a template called blog_template. This template has a TV assigned to it called blogContent. I’ve made this TV a rich text input and widget type with TinyMCE as the editor.

In my NewsPublisher snippet on this page I have:

          [!NewsPublisher? &folder=`7` &footertpl=`CommentsBlog` &makefolder=`1` &clearcache=`1` &aliastitle=`1` &rtcontent=`tvblogContent` &formtpl=`formBlogPostEntry` !]

Inside my &formtpl (formBlogPostEntry) I have replaced

          <textarea name="content" cols="50" rows="5">[+content+]</textarea>

          with

          <p>[*blogContent*]</p>

Inside my configuration (through the manager) I’ve allowed web user access to the resource browser.

Everything is working, but my TinyMCE that shows up only has super basic commands (in the source it has placed the ’simple’ config, so basically all I can do is Bold, Italicize or Underline...). No image access or resource browser, and the whole menu of tiny mce is on the bottom (and looks out of whack).

Not sure where to go from here.

          Am I missing something?
