    Hi!

I recently installed revolution 1.0 and copied a template and its files from another site (running modx 0.9.3 or so).
It turns out that the FlexSearchForm I used on the old cms (www.vhbonaire.com) will not work on the new one (www.bavobonaire.com)
    The search-field doesn’t even appear.
The code I used in the template is: [[FlexSearchForm?FSF_showResults=0&FSF_landing=`53`]]

Does anyone here know what’s wrong?

If you want to continue using FlexSearchForm, you’ll need to get the snippet code and make a new snippet. You’ve got the external support files, but you don’t have the snippet in the database; it’s not installed any more as part of a default installation.

Yeah, I know.... the template for the website I used is a free one and uses FSF. I made the snippet, but in modx 1.0 it doesn’t work anymore. Maybe I should figure out how to use AjaxSearch here.

Try it with a plain [!AjaxSearch!] call; you can style the AJAX drop-down results box in your site css file. It’s pretty nice. Or you can use parameters to tell it not to use the AJAX requests, as well as to display the results on a different page. It’s very flexible, and the documentation is reasonable clear. And we’re here all the time wink

OKay... so I looked into the ajaxsearch snippet text and it says to use this [[AjaxSearch? AS_landing=int]] where int is the id of the destination-page.

So I tried [[AjaxSearch? AS_landing=53]], [[AjaxSearch? AS_landing=’53’]], [[AjaxSearch? &AS_landing=53]], [[AjaxSearch? &AS_landing=’53’]], but don’t get it to use this page with any of those...

what am I doing wrong here? huh

                [[AjaxSearch? &AS_landing='53']]

                Should be :
                [[AjaxSearch? &AS_landing=`53`]]

Note the back-ticks rather than your single quotes

Okay, I changed those, but it still won’t give the searchresults on page 53. Do I need to do something on that page too? (For ajaxSearch to know where to put things?)

My searchresult-page is now a copy from the pre-installed modx-page and has this code: [!AjaxSearch? &AS_showForm=`0` &ajaxSearch=`0`!]

I copied the search code from the modx-template and that works fine... hmmm Maybe because it has [! instead of [[ ?

                    [!AjaxSearch? ajaxSearch=`1` &AS_landing=`8` &moreResultsPage=`8` &showMoreResults=`1` &addJscript=`0` &extract=`0` &AS_showResults=`0`!]

[! uncached is needed if your page is set to be cachable.
                      Glad you got it working
