autobackup plugin for modx

Hi there,

Does anyone know if there’s an addon or plugin that autosave / backup the complete database at specific hours (at night for instance)?

thanks!

Not as such, there’s the BkupMODx extra but you need to run this manually, theres also a few attempts at setting up timed jobs using cron(if your on nix) where you have to supply your own snippet etc.

I do this from outside MODx as part of normal machine backup procedures, ie call mysqldump as a cron job, then rsync the directory structure to backup etc. Windows will have tools to do this also, scheduled tasks I think.

You could use something like this: http://tips-scripts.com/sql_backups to do the database(s) and something like this: http://tips-scripts.com/site_backups for the files.

They both automate nicely and have been rather useful to me.
