Hello Team,
I thought I share something back. I am a total newbie and have been unsuccessfully going at getting a simple slide show going. Just revolving pictures, did not need any fancy captions of any sort and I wanted it just as a snippet without having to do any fancy coding which I am not able to anyway (yet).
After lots of buggering around
(NZ term for wasting time) I found the above, with this real simple wizard to set it up:
http://www.barelyfitz.com/projects/slideshow/wizard/
It works a treat with my ModX 0.9.6. You can later add pictures easily once the code is installed (case sensitive). Anybody else having similar issues I would be delighted to give back.
I have got it going in my template CSS styled as well as in the content area.
Here is what I did with it:

If this is the wrong spot to put this post shift at will. Happy to help. On sporadically.
Fritz.
PS: Any of the team might want to ask him if he wants to make it available. It is very newbeee friendly.
