    I am using MODx mainly so that I can hand CMS websites over to clients that they will be able to update themselves with ease. However, Since downloading the latest release of MODx I have noticed that the default content editor is the plain HTML one.

    Is there any way to set MODx (and quick edit) so that TinyMCE is the default content editor? The HTML one might make things confusing for my clients, even asking them to switch to TinyMCE every time they want to update the content is a bit much.

    Also, is there a method of blocking out the ’Edit Resource’ bar that appears at the top of each page for specific user roles?

    Thanks.

      In the manager, go to the bar at the top

      Tools -> Configuration -> Interface & Features -> Enable Editor/Editor to Use

      And select TinyMCE

      I believe this is what you are asking.

        You might also need to check the plugin itself and make sure that it is not disabled and that the system events are checked that TinyMCE needs in order to work properly.

        Events: OnRichTextEditorInit, OnRichTextEditorRegister, OnInterfaceSettingsRender
