i’m a complete newbie -- installed modx 9.6.3 today -- and the installation instructions for maxigallery say
- FTP to your server and go to the modx installation folder
- Put the extracted assets folder to the site root and the files will go to correct place
my problem: since modx already has an assets folder in my root folder, if i put the "extracted assets folder" for maxigallery "in the site root" it will write over the assets folder for modx -- right? so i don’t get it.
can someone tell me how to install maxigallery -- or another thought would be to send me a screenshot of the directory structure of modx relative to maxi gallery?

just place the folder "galleries" (from your downloaded & extracted MaxiGallery.zip) into your sites assets-folder and make it writableCHMOD 777, after that place the "maxigallery" folder (from your downloaded & extracted MaxiGallery.zip) into your sites assets/snippets folder.
in your MODx Manager go to "Ressources" -> "manage Ressources" -> "Snippets" -> "New Snippet" and and paste the contents of maxigallery.txt into it
