NOTE: I am not a network guy, and I am not even sure if what I need is possible.
I am getting the following error when trying to use the eForm:
Main mail: Mailer was unable to send mailCould not instantiate mail function.
Here is my client’s situation. The hosting co just upgraded their Windows based servers (long story, but Linux is not an option for this site). They are using IIS7, DotNetPanel, and SmarterMail. The form itself is correct, as it worked great on the old Plesk based server. My client has their own Exchange server (which is of course external to the site), and all MX entries in the DNS zone in the DotNetPanel are correct, as their email is working.
The hosting company’s new setup doesn’t create a webmail account by default. So all I had to do was set the A and MX records, and we were good to go. The problem is that the new hosting setup is using SMTP.
Basically, how do I go about getting eForm to send mail via SMTP, when the target email server is external to the hosting company? Is this possible? Am I even making sense LOL?
Thanks is advance

In the eForm code, assets/snippets/eform/eform.inc.php, there are three places where the mailer is defined. In all three places (do a search for the new PHPMailer() part) replace the isMail() with
$mail = new PHPMailer();
$mail->isSMTP();
$mail->Host = 'smtp.domain.com';
Holy shit, I figured that was too easy of a solution to work, but it did. I wasted a whole damn day trying to figure this out. Note to self, post the issue on the forum first. I really can’t thank you enough. Now I need to try to implement this solution with WebLoginPE.
Thanks again
Ok, after getting the above to work (for at least 2 month straight), the email forms on my client’s site have stopped working suddenly. I am waiting on a response from a ticket I put in with the hosting co, but I figured I would try here encase my assumptions are correct. Prior to today, I didn’t have SMTPauth setup, and it all worked great. I am assuming they made a change that now requires it in the script.
Since my client has an external exchange server, and no local email accounts with the hosting co, what would be the username/password? I hope that made sense.
Disregard my stupid question. I finally convinced the company to drop their outsourced IT guy, for a new one. We got together and talked about their exchange server. Now I am using that external server to send all email (eform, webloginpe, etc) from the site.
