Surely people who are new to the whole ModX experience, lack the knowledge required to understand custom chunk tpl’s and their uses?. Additionally, i don’t see the point in including a snippet in the installation, that doesn’t work without making alterations to the coding.

None the less, its a brillant CMS, and i appricate your help in solving this problem.

    Thanks again smiley

That’s what we’re here for. A default installation simply cannot be all things to all people considering how many possible servers and server configurations there are, so there will always be questions and issues with new users.

Sorry to be a pain,...but Jot aint working for me either sad.

Heres where the script is used: http://www.pixelisedesigns.co.uk/test2.html
you’ll notice when you try and post a comment, the cms tries to load the following url: http://test2.html/?z=manprev#jf58500330

Again, i’ve not edit/amended any of the original coding, and have simply included the snippet into my content using the following tag [[Jot]]. Sorry to be such a dumbass, but i’m dying to learn all this, i’m enjoying the frustrating experience and love dabbling in new material.

Any help would be greatly appricated.

        EDIT

I’m also having trouble with WebLogin, is there any documenation about getting these snippets to work?, i feel bad annoying you (and anyone else who looks at this) with newbie questions like this. I don’t mind doing the leg work myself, if its available to me like. I’m kinda new to the whole CMS scene, and even to php, mysql etc

The best way of learning this is to do a fresh install of modx on a local xampp/mampp and install the demo site. Strip down the default templates and snippet tpl’s that being called. e.g.--->FormLogin chunk.

But don’t install the demo page (by the upgrader) on a existing site, because it will wipe existing site content then.

i dont think i’d learn anything from doing this. I’m new to the whole CMS experience, and would greatly prefer documentation that explains what i’m doing, how i’m doing it and what doing this will achieve etc.

Additional, i’m also new to PHP and MySQL.

I’m definatly willing to learn, its the way forward!
