I want to have some parts of my template editable via the quick editor. These parts are richtext template vars in the manager and i call the quickeditor like so: [*#foo*]

Now if i’m logged in using the default modx admin account, the desired quickeditor buttons appear on the front end of the site.

However, another user must also be allowed to use the quickeditor in that manner. So i’ve added a new manager user and created a new role which has at least ’run module’ access.

Alas, the quickeditor only appears in the default [*#content*] area, not the desired template var area’s.

Granting all access permissions to the new users role did not help nor did giving the new user the default ’Administrator’ role.

    What gives?

Apart from [*content*], I could be wrong, but I don’t think you can edit TVs with Quick Editor? There’s Quip+ though and I think it might allow editing of TVs

EDIT: Incorrect position; see Shane’s entry below..thanks.

You can edit TVs with QE. TVs can be assigned to manager groups so that only the selected ones can be editable. Do you have the TVs assigned to the manager group? Also are the TVs being accessed via a snippet? Not all snippets allow access to quickedit.

Take a look in your QuickEdit toolbar (top left corner of the screen) and check if the TVs are available under the Content menu option.

Ladies and Gentleman, We have a winner grin

The problem was indeed caused by the fact the template variables were not assigned to the correct group.

All is peachy now. Thanx for your (very swift!) reply!!
