    Hi,

    I am reasonably new to Modx and starting to enjoy its features. However, I am creating a website that will have forum as part of it. So, I am using SMForum for this as there is some help available through Modx community for this.

    The issue is when I am installing the Module I am getting this error and the installation aborts.

    Setup will now attempt to setup the database:

    Creating connection to the database: OK!

    Selecting database `ex`: OK!

    Module:

    SMF Connector: Upgraded

    Plugin:

    SMFConnect: Upgraded

    Fatal error: Call to a member function getFullTableName() on a non-object in C:\wamp\www\example\manager\processors\cache_sync.class.processor.php on line 100

    Please note that I am trying this in the localhost using wampserver. Name of the database is "ex", in case it is important.

    Also, I would like to know how I can make smforum be linked to modx menu.

    Thanks so much.

    Shank

      I’m also getting this when testing on WAMP. Is this a known issue? I’m sure I had this running before on WAMP and it worked fine. I’m not at home so can’t test on my server but I’m convinced I wouldn’t get the same error on that.

        I am having the same issue. Does anyone know where we can find some information on a solution?

          The SMF module hasn’t seen much development in a while, but there are folks that are getting it to work. As an aside, we’re planning to address SMF integration with MODx for our own purposes on the MODx project. The WAMP server stuff seems like an environment issue.

          Also, I would like to know how I can make smforum be linked to modx menu
          You’d want to create a weblink and point it at your forum install location.

            Are you volunteering your time and knowledge to work on this for free? Or would you be willing to pay for someone to work on it?

              I can tell you for nothing that the file referred to is missing a closing ?> to match the opening <?php.

              I traced this a few months ago when I hit this error trying the SMF bridge, so it didn’t take so long second time around.

              Will enter in JIRA when I get time.

                On further checking the SMF module files I have on my setup, and having been kindly informed that the closing tag in PHP is optional, I realize that in fact what got rid of this error for me was an update to the SMF module’s installer file instprocessor.php. Add the following to the file before line 244:
                // initiate a new document parser
                // from http://www.modx-cms.ru/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=566
                include_once('../manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php');
                $modx = new DocumentParser;

                smiley KP
