I’m trying to use Virtual Aliases but I don’t seem to be able to set the urls correctly.
I want any incoming old urls to *.html documents to go to www.sitename/docname
(ie no suffix.)
I’ve tried
http://www.australiancoralfarms.com.au/corals/corals.html
http://australiancoralfarms.com.au/corals/corals.html
http://www.australiancoralfarms.com.au/corals/corals
http://australiancoralfarms.com.au/corals/corals.html
I have furls turned on, suffix and prefix set to blank, friendly aliases, and friendly aliases path set to yes,
Any pointers?
Thanks

That will have to be done in the .htaccess file. I’m not sure exactly how, but at least that should get you looking in the right direction.
Susan,
simpler than that as it turns out.
If I just use something like
dry_goods/dry_goods.html in the TV
without all the preceding stuff, it works fine.

Excellent. I still have to spend hours twiddling with the .htaccess file with trial-and-error, interspersed with many Google searches, whenever I need to deal with it
I know what you mean.
As somebody else said about the .htaccess file: "It’s voodoo, damned cool voodoo, but voodoo nonetheless."
