Can we call a TV related to a document from another one???

Here is my problem.

I have a container containing some documents. Each document has TV that is an Image link. Basically each document has some text and an image that it gets from the TV.

Now I need to have a list of these documents on my main page. I obviously use Ditto for this but when I use a call to the TV of each page in my ditto template I end up with no image. So now I wonder if a Ditto call can get the docs TVs too.

How about trying to use this parameter ?

Iguess if you suggest this solution, it means that I can’t call a TV from another doc right???

I’m not sure this parameter helps you, but I thought this might one solution.
Add this parameter to your Ditto snippet call, where ’TV_Name’ is the name of your TV holding image url.


If this doesn’t work, please provide more information like Ditto snippet call to get help.

Nope it doesn’t seem to work.

Here is my Ditto call.

ditto_product is a chunk that displays my image and some text. Here is its code :



Basically I want to have a list of documents ( which contain an image using a TV) on my main page so I call the container (id=24) I can get the text but images don’t show up.

Change [*ThumbProductImageLink*] to [+ThumbProductImageLink+].

Great it works but it doesn’t make any sense to me.

Does my TV become a placeholder in my Ditto chunk???

In Ditto template, some [+...+] mean modx variables of the processed document by Ditto.
On the other hand, [*...*] means the modx variable of the document where Ditto snippet call is placed.
So [*id*] is the id of the document of Ditto snippet call
and [+id+] is the id of the document processed by Ditto snippet.
