    Hello,

I’ve started looking around and searching in the "extras" section of the MODx Website for an events calendar plugin/snippet. It looks not many of the ones listed have demos or screenshots and I’d like to avoid installing them to see them, etc. so I’m looking for recommendations on any that any of you might like! I have a pretty basic list of requirements below. Any suggestions are appreciated, thank you!!

    • Easy for the client to add and update events.
    • Accommodate a a couple views; small calendar in sidebar and large format on single page as well
    • Have an RSS feed
    • Easily able to link to other documents as well as external Websites
    • Easy to categorize events

IMO, the best calendar at the moment is: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,34824.0.html and the iCal demo here: http://www.quantum-cmg.com/demos/ are very promising.

The problem is to update the calendar you need to use google (could be a good thing), I think all links are passed to catcher page before sending to final link, and I don’t think you can categorize/filter the calendar.

Anyways it might work for you needs...

I’m looking for something too - I love the plugin that was posted, but I’m needing to find something that will read straight from a standard .ics file rather than Google Calendar. Any thoughts on this?

This is probably a novice questions, but for that Calendar demo, if this is the snippet call:

            [!Calendar? &emails=`[email protected],[email protected]` &offset=`-2 hours` &template=`default`!]

and this is the calendar I want to display: https://www.google.com:443/calendar/hosted/changeforkids.org

Then what part of the original snippet do I replace w/my code?

I’ve got my calendar working by replacing

              [email protected],[email protected]

              with

              [email protected]

where [email protected] is the email account that I used when creating my Google calendar.
