Thanks for the advice tkfm - I did go into the manager and actually see that within the editor I can add tags without issue (I can also just add my {{Bookmarks}} chunk call in manually). Seems odd though that I can’t create a new blog post within the CMS manager but I can edit one created, and unfortunately if I want to use tags I have to both use the web interface and the content manager to get it done.
Is FDM a much better replacement? Or is there a completely new blog engine/module/extra you’d recommend?
Thanks - any advice greatly appreciated.
@tkfm
Thanks tkfm, final newby question - can I leave DITTO installed and still use FDM? (I’m guessing here that you can both installed at the same time with no issues, it’s just a matter of what you call in what templates/pages etc)? Just wanted to check on any compatibility issues - since I’m new to MODx - so far seems like you can throw the kitchen sink in there and it holds up. As Ditto is a default install I wasn’t sure if a replacement/removal situation was possible if I went with FDM or if having both was no issue.
PS - any site/code examples for blog/article implementation of FDM calls for editing/content creation could you please pass ’em along?
Thanks so much - your help has been greatly appreciated!

You can use Ditto and FDM all at the same time if you want to. The only time there are problems is if you need the output of one snippet for another one to work, then you have to make sure they’re called in the correct order, or if you embed one snippet call as a parameter to another one you have to make sure they’re called uncached/cached. If they set javascript, then you might get conflicts, but from the javascript itself, not from the snippets.
